How many times have you ran ads on Facebook for your business, and were able to generate a lot of likes & comments, but no actual sales..?
After talking to dozens of small business owners over the past few weeks, it seems like most have this exact issue.
The good news is, there is actually a very simple reason for this, and it may surprise you…
You see, Facebook is actually trying it’s best to help you…
When you ‘Boost’ a post, you are telling Facebook you want that post to get more likes, comments are shares.
So what does Facebook do?
It shows your ad to people who will like, comment and share it.
Unfortunately, the people who are most likely to engage with your post are NOT the same people who are likely to buy your product or service.
The reason your ads aren’t working is simply because you’re telling Facebook to find the WRONG people.
So how do you find the right people?
You tell Facebook exactly who you’re looking for, and then sit back and watch as it laser targets your perfect customer.
To do that, there’s 3 things you need:
1 – The right copy (the text or message you put with your ad)
2 – The right creative (the image or video you use)
3 – The right targeting (who actually sees your ad)
Once you have all 3 of these things dialled in, it becomes almost impossible for your ads not to work.
The bad news is, if you are ‘Boosting’ your posts from the front end, you’ll never be able to get that third step right – the targeting.
Taking the time to learn how to run ads through the backend (Or Ads Manager – as it’s called) will be one of the best things you’ll ever do.
Through the backend, you are able to tell Facebook exactly what it is you are optimising for, whether that be engagement, video views, link clicks, or even purchases!
Then Facebook will go out and show your ad to people who it knows are most likely to take that action.
